Description
Earthkeepers is a curriculum-based environmental science program specifically designed for 4th graders, allowing them to explore nature while deepening their understanding of environmental science. The on-site portion of the program lasts 3 full days at the Earthkeepers Training Center, T.R.E.E.’s Outdoor Classroom in Luling, LA. Back at school, the students will complete the final elements of the program with the support of their classroom teachers and the support of T.R.E.E. Staff.
Program Highlights:
Engaging Curriculum: Students will delve into vital life science processes through interactive lessons, developing critical thinking skills with real-world applications. A substantial portion of Louisiana's 4th Grade Science standards are covered (Please see the attached EARTHKEEPERS APPROACH & STANDARDS for detailed information.)
Holistic Learning: Our curriculum integrates physical, emotional, and social aspects of learning, encouraging students to reflect on their relationship with the environment and fostering a sense of stewardship.
Dedicated Support: Our highly trained educators collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure a seamless experience, providing a springboard for ongoing place-based connections throughout the school year.
Empowerment through Action: Participants examine their personal lifestyle, committing themselves to individual changes that will reduce their impact upon the systems of life. This commitment is greatly magnified by the students teaching others back at school what they've learned about the earth to complete the final component of the program.

Since 1995, TREE’s mission has been to educate children and adults about the life science processes that govern our planet, to inspire them to appreciate the natural world, and to motivate them to protect it. Highly trained educators immerse 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grade students in life science adventures both on and off-school campuses exploring nature's bounty while also covering state standards.
