Free Dance Day Teens Edition

Teen Contemporary:

Contemporary dance combines elements of several dance styles including modern, jazz, ballet, and even Hip Hop. This class will specifically work with Release Technique, Horton, Limon, and Graham techniques, but will also emphasize American Jazz dance. Open to ages 11-16. 

Teen Hip Hop: 

This class teaches the fundamentals of Hip Hop dance (Groove, Bounce, Rock). Your students will learn basic Hip Hop dance moves, explore foundational Hip Hop styles, and practice learning choreography. The class is open to ages 11-16.

Youth Breakin': 

The Hip Hop Style of Breaking, also known as ‘Bboying’ or ‘breakdancing’, is well known for its intensity. This class will get the blood pumping with a high-energy, music-driven warm-up and detailed stretching exercises to get those muscles moving. Footwork, floor work, momentum-driven movements, and floor-based poses will be drilled and woven together to create small movement sets or choreographies until students understand them well enough to freely improvise with what they learn to whatever music is playing. Get ready to experience a comprehensive workout, explore eccentric body positions, and discover things that you probably never knew you could achieve! Open to ages 8-16.
