Description
For millennia, Jews have lived in almost every region of the planet, with the longest residency in the lands of Eastern Europe and the Middle East. To celebrate Jewish American Heritage month, join David Buchbinder for an interactive musical performance and exploration of Jewish musical cultures, where the waters of history and sounds of the people flow into a richly complex river of music.
Sunday, May 17 2:30 p.m.: David Buchbinder & the River of Jewish Music
The performance will be held in LCM’s Talk & Play Center, a community resource and library room that offers free programming and story times without Museum admission. This cultural program and others are brought to you through the generous support of our sponsors @jazzandheritage and @notcfoundation.
LCM’s mission is to contribute to the region’s future prosperity by engaging children’s potential and making that potential visible. Through play, shared explorations, and in dialogue with adults, LCM connects children to each other, their environment, and communities. It envisions a world where communities value children, strengthen and support families, and improve life outcomes by ensuring access to safe, innovative learning experiences. LCM’s expansive indoor/outdoor campus is the epicenter of LCM’s programs, which are designed for children from birth through third grade who have various learning styles and abilities. Annually, LCM welcomes approximately 190,000 local and out-of-town visitors and engages approximately 12,000 New Orleans area youth and adults through its community outreach programs.
