STEM Design Build Sail

Over the course of ten (10) immersive learning experiences, students dive into the fun and fascinating world of sailing while exploring fundamental science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. Each week, we will have opportunities to discuss the STEM concepts used in sailing and see them in action as we sail on Lake Pontchartrain. Students will be challenged to apply those concepts reviewed throughout the season to build their very own boat!

This free of charge (consecutive) 10-week program is offered every semester and focuses on reinforcing (middle school) concepts taught in the classroom through sailing using US Sailing's REACH curriculum as a guide for topics, activities and lessons.
