New Orleans youth ages 14 to 24 are encouraged to apply for a seat on the Youth Advisory Board of CYPB. Apply here by Sunday, February 16, 11:59 PM.
Through leadership workshops, community projects, solutions-focused planning + action, and power-building + power-sharing, the Youth Advisory Board of CYPB connects youth experiences, strengths, and voices to make change in our communities.
Our work moves forward the 10-year citywide Youth Master Plan, a plan created and advanced with and for New Orleans youth and people who care about them. Join us!

Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone who is 14-24 years old and lives, learns, works, and/or worships in Orleans Parish.
Tell me more about the Youth Advisory Board:
We are a group of New Orleans youth (ages 14 to 24) who connect our experiences and strengths to make change in our communities. We build our skills to lead and we share our expertise.
We advise on how people, places, practices, and policies can become more youth-centered.
We acknowledge that all youth have power and voice. We bring youth leaders together to connect, take action, and move toward our vision for a better New Orleans.
We move forward the 10-year citywide Youth Master Plan, created with and for New Orleans youth and people who care about them.
What are the commitments & benefits?
Show Up & Bring Your Voice. Monthly full board meetings on the 2nd Saturday, 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Cafe Reconcile. The member term is 1 year, March-December, with the option to renew membership for the next year.
Share & Sharpen Your Skills. Join working groups, committees, and projects based on your interests and availability. Build leadership skills through trainings, workshops, activities, and actions.
Get Paid. Receive a monthly stipend to honor your time, effort, and expertise. Earn up to $200 in a month, pending meetings and projects schedule.
Give Back. Earn Community Service Hours for your civic engagement and community-based work.
Build Community. Connect with people across generations to envision and contribute to a more compassionate, just, and equitable New Orleans.

The New Orleans Children & Youth Planning Board (CYPB) is made up of cross-sector members, a Youth Advisory Board, and staff who plan and act together to deliver change that improves outcomes for New Orleans children, youth, and their families. CYPB focuses on comprehensive planning and coordinated efforts for Positive Youth Development in our ciy.
Centered in youth voice, vision, and leadership, CYPB works in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Youth & Families (OYF) and the New Orleans Youth Alliance (NOYA) to administer the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the 10-year New Orleans Youth Master Plan: a comprehensive roadmap for creating and sustaining a youth development-focused and results-oriented New Orleans that works for all our city's youth, birth to 24 and beyond.
