STEM NOLA’s Hands-On STEM Summer Camps powered by Chevron are back—bringing exciting, interactive learning experiences to students in grades K–8 at Xavier University of Louisiana!
Location: Xavier University
Duration: 4 Weeks (Monday–Thursday)
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Led by our incredible staff, interns, and volunteers, each week is packed with interactive, hands-on learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and build confidence.

Week 1 (Environmental Engineering / Buoyancy & Density): June 2nd - June 5th: During this session, students will learn what Archimedes’ Principle is and why things float. They will also get hands-on with the environment and how to make things grow and keep the earth green.
Week 2 (Physics of : Chemistry, Rockets & Sound): June 9th- June 12th: During this session, students will get hands-on with reactions by creating chemical reactions and learning the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. Kids will dive into learning about sound, how sound travels, what frequency and pitch mean and how it affects sound.
Week 3 (Biology & Technology): June 16th - June 19th: During this session, kids will explore properties of the human anatomy like the heart, lungs, and circulatory system. They will also be able to connect how human anatomy compares to present-day technology. Kids will learn more about how electricity flows and connect how circuits are used in everyday life through robotics and technology.
Week 4 (Hydraulics & Simple Machines): June 23rd - June 26th: During this session, kids will explore simple machines. They will learn about the different types of simple machines and how they compound to make larger machines. Kids will learn about the properties of fluids, understanding how hydraulics contributes to the function of simple machines.
